Confirm before you act
Always verify the date, entry status, price, route, distance, ascent, cutoffs, checkpoint plan, mandatory kit, transport and cancellation terms on the official organiser website before entering, booking travel or starting the race.
Known unknowns
“Unknown”, “not verified”, “provisional” and Partial Data Confidence are deliberate. They mean Race For You does not have enough reliable current information. They must not be interpreted as zero, free, absent or unrestricted.
Race families, editions and collection counts
A race family is the continuing event identity; an edition is a particular dated occurrence. One family can offer several editions. Collection summaries label whether they count families or editions and state the date used to assess upcoming records. Awaiting-date and past records remain distinct from confirmed upcoming editions. These totals describe the records held here, not every event in a region or the number of entries available.
Reading surfaces and locations
Marathon and half-marathon surfaces follow the selected edition, including retained evidence for road, trail, mixed, track or unknown. A later edition does not automatically inherit an older course claim. Surface does not establish climbing, difficulty or distance certification. Nearby discovery in those two categories uses the recorded start or approximate area; the UK ultra tools do not offer the same postcode-radius controls.
Overseas collections follow the directory’s UK-based organiser scope and keep competitive races separate from run/trek adventures. Trip windows, confirmed running dates and details still awaiting verification have different meanings.
Derived and editorial fields
Climbing density, required pace, price per kilometre and difficulty are calculated from stored facts. Technicality and beginner suitability are Race For You editorial assessments. Neither category is an organiser claim.
Race DNA and alternatives
Race DNA and Smart Alternatives compare recorded race characteristics using a deterministic, versioned method. They are not personal recommendations, guarantees of suitability or finish predictions. Missing evidence reduces comparison coverage and stays visible. A cancelled race's alternatives are independent catalogue comparisons, not organiser-designated replacements. Read the Race DNA method.
Source-check freshness
“Official source successfully checked” is shown only from a recorded successful check. Fresh, Due and Overdue describe the configured review cadence, not a guarantee that every detail is still unchanged. Imports, deployments, page views and attempted checks do not verify race facts. Recorded source conflicts remain warnings even when cadence is current.
How selection summaries are made
Examples in collection summaries use a stated rule, such as the earliest eligible edition in different recorded formats or navigation modes. They are illustrations of a choice, not a ranking of the best races. Eligibility changes can replace an example. The summary’s assessment date and the editorial guide’s review date do not renew any event’s source-check date. Follow each record’s sources for the facts and the methodology for the separate calculations.
Corrections
“Report an update” currently saves a device-only draft. It does not send anything to Race For You, an organiser or a review queue, and it never overwrites race data.
