Hard
High evidence confidence · 94% evidence coverage
This score is driven most by technical terrain, exposure and self-sufficiency. Difficulty V2's separate time-limit modifier adds 0.15 points here and is capped at 0.70; a broad limit cannot erase extreme intrinsic demand. This is independent of the public Cutoff Pressure V2 band.
Course analysis
Expect sustained upland ground and meaningful climbing, sections where foot placement and downhill confidence matter, exposed moorland where weather can amplify the difficulty.
Climbing density
29.7m per km
A more useful comparison than total ascent alone: it shows how consistently the course asks you to climb.
Cutoff analysis
To finish inside 27h, the raw average required is 12:45 per kilometre (20:31 per mile), including every stop.
Cutoff pressure compares the published time limit with distance, ascent and verified course demands. Lower pressure does not mean the race is easy. Raw pace includes checkpoints, food stops, navigation errors and any sleep; it is not a pacing plan.
Who this suits
This is not designed as a first-ultra recommendation. Significant endurance, navigation or mountain-race experience is strongly advised.
1.2/10 suitability
Navigation
Route-finding is part of the challenge. Carry the required mapping tools and be able to use them in darkness and poor visibility.
Exposure & kit
Significant overnight running is likely for many entrants. Lighting, temperature management and sleep strategy can materially affect the outcome.
Personal race predictor
No current compatible predictor target is available for this family. The selected edition may be complete or cancelled, awaiting a successor, non-standard, or missing model-critical course evidence; older facts are not substituted.

Latest verification
The official GB Ultras page verifies the completed 23–24 May 2026 edition, £245 entry, 100-place field, 27-hour cutoff, 3,780m ascent, seven checkpoints and mandatory self-navigation on an unmarked route. The official title says 75 miles while the permanent low-level diversion makes the route approximately 79 miles; the route distance is retained and the title conflict is explicit. No 2027 edition is inferred.
Event details can change after a successful source check. Confirm the final route, kit, cutoff, price and entry terms directly with the organiser before entering or travelling.
